This website has been created to provide some legitimate medical information about the Gluten Syndrome and to raise awareness amongst health professionals. The aim is that all conditions caused by an immune response to gluten be considered when symptoms are present, tested for appropriately and treated with a gluten free diet. This includes all the controversial Gluten Syndromes and the "mainstream" condition Coeliac Disease.
Gastric Reflux Support Network New Zealand for Infants and Children Charitable Trust (GRSNNZ)
Gluten can cause gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and GRSNNZ now recommends that it is not introduced into the diet of an infant with gastric reflux disease until they are a year of age. Many of the staff and committee members of GRSNNZ have discovered with time that their families are affected by gluten in some way.. Hence, GRSNNZ is supporting Gluten Awareness NZ. In time a Gluten Awareness NZ committee will need to be formed to apply for funding and carry on the work. Please contact us if you are interested in being part of this.
